ForeverKind is a business concept by Kind Companies Ltd and is not yet operational.

 A good death.

Death isn’t easy to talk about, which makes it hard to plan for.
We’re here to help you plan for end of life in a way that benefits you, your loved ones and the environment.

We wanted to create a better place to remember and celebrate a loved one.
We want to change the way we talk about, plan for and create end of life experiences. Rather than cemetery grounds, we imagine thriving New Zealand native forests. Your legacy lives on in a memorial forest—for you, your loved ones, and the planet—a protected forest, alive with memories. A resting place that is more than a tombstone and a patch of grass, a place full of life, part of nature, and a meaningful contribution to protecting and growing our beautiful native forests for future generations.

Thank you for trusting us with your final resting place.
We’re honoured to be a part of it.

Who we are.

ForeverKind is a concept from Kind Companies Ltd, a company that uses creativity and innovation to solve social and environmental issues across a range of sectors. Creating solutions that genuinely serve people and the planet better.

Other Kind Company ventures address issues around affordable housing and look at new environmental packaging solutions.

ForeverKind is based on the German FriedWald memorial forests with the aim of diverting existing burial expenses to the regeneration and maintenance of New Zealand native bush.

Why we do it.

Our population continues to increase and our country and planet are reaching a critical environmental point.

Traditional burials and memorials have remained largely unchanged for decades. We saw an opportunity to create something new—non-denominational memorials in nature.

Cremation rates are increasing as it is a more economical and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional burials which put an incredible amount of resources and chemicals in to the ground.

We also need to take collective responsibility for New Zealand native forest regeneration as these trees are the lungs of our country. This can start at an individual level - the environmental impact of one ForeverKind memorial is immense. We keep formaldehyde out of the soil, redirect timber use for more important uses, ensure land within city boundaries is used for much needed housing as well as protect and grow our native forests. Multiply that across the country and we are looking at environmental and social impact that extends well beyond our years.

How we do it.

ForeverKind identifies New Zealand native forest areas within access of cities and towns and secures this land for memorial forests that will be held in conservation trust for eternity.

We work with local communities to conserve our forests. To ensure forest health we hire local experts who catalog the land, clear invasive species and assess the well-being of each tree, adopting forest management best practices to remove pests and mitigate the risk of disease.

We’re committed to being good neighbours by engaging with local landowners and councils to ensure everyone is happy and to collectively conserve our beautiful forests. We hire locally to ensure that each memorial forest serves its community.

If you have an area of native forest, or know of a place, that you think would be suitable please let us know.
